Speech and Language Therapist

Roogaiyah Hamidaddin  is a Speech and Language Therapist and has been practicing in public and private sectors for over 10 years.

Educated and trained in United States, she holds a dual Master’s degree in Speech and Language Delay’s, Fluency, Language Processing, Augmentative and Alternative Communication, Learning Disabilities, Social Communication, and the management of problem behaviors. She is passionate about enhancing children and adolescents’ functional communication and expressive and receptive language skills, including literacy and executive functioning abilities and frequently present in schools, nurseries and in national and international conferences with a focus on prevention and awareness, early intervention, and parent coaching.

Expertise Areas:

  • Specialized and individualized assessment and diagnostic and language assessments.
  • Treatment of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) receptive and expressive language impairments, Fluency disorder, learning disabilities, Attention Deficit –Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and social language deficits by utilizing an individualized plan with long-term and short- term goal.
  • One-to-one and group intervention services in both English and Arabic languages.
  • Diagnosis of children ages 18 months to 8 years with ASD utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach.
  • Classroom Consultation & Recommendations on speech and language needs provided to teachers and administrators based upon observations within the classroom environment.

Qualifications and Memberships:

  • Dual Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Language and Hearing Sciences& Psychology from George Washington University, USA.
  • Master of Arts Degree in Speech Pathology from University of Nevada-Reno, USA
  • Master of Arts Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of Nevada-Reno USA
  • Nationally certified member – Certificate of Clinical Competence, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Trained and certified provider of Hanen Center program, “It takes two to talk”
  • Trained and certified provider of the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).
  • Trained and certified provider of the Lidcombe Program –Treatment for early stuttering.
  • Trained in the administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2)
